Choice is yours- Want to be-
BUSY or BE EASY
Everyone knows that
if he/she is not busy then the company would throw him/her out
and he/she will be jobless... so it's necessary to remain busy.. this word itself asks to
"be easy". I was walking in the corridor of my
office where I worked as a finance manager and had a great repute. It was
Diwali and I had to wrap up fast so that I can join my family for the
celebrations. But this time it wasn't a new feeling. I had been through all
this for past five years. Even in August I could not fly kites with my kids on
Independence Day. Although my husband fulfilled all these duties....Thanks to
his job!! Yet, for me- it was much of a pleasure rather than a duty. I wanted
to spend my time with my kids, especially on these special days. Everyone in
office knew that I will never come to office on my birthday, my husband's
birthday, my kids' birthday and my anniversary. So, why on Diwali and other
festivals? Only because I had to show everyone how busy I was. I wasn’t busy that day. I had already finished my work,
on the previous day. So, whom was I fooling, my bosses, my family or just myself?
This thought came to my mind, and wrapped up
quickly, wishing everyone and just........ running back home. And I was in
elevator, my boss called up. He shouted on me that how could I go when he was
still in the office. I told him that he lived hardly 3 kilometres far from
office and I lived around 40 kilometres away. I did my work and how could I show
him that I am busy. He was not available when I left.. he
was busyyy in his smoke and chitchat.
This is known as relationship building, in his language. I don't know from
where did I get that courage.. I just bombarded at hi and asked him to BE
EASY. He wished me Happy
Diwali and silently kept the phone.
Now tell me one thing, what would this money
do when my kids will grow old and they will have no time to celebrate Diwali
with me? They just learn everything from whatever we do so I had to be with
them so that when I am old, my kids also run back to me and their kids- to
celebrate special occasions in life. It wasn't so easy, I was stuck in
traffic for long and then I got down on the way and boarded metro so that I can
reach home EASILY. The smile on my little Ones' faces was
priceless. My hubby asked me won't I was BUSY , and I smiled that it
was just a day to know how to BE
EASY.
Note: now I don't go to office anymore and
work from home from past four years.. enjoying every bit of my children’s'
childhood. I am not repenting but am a better wife, better mother and a better
person now. I am not waiting for my old age to enjoy my life, but I
cherish the present with my family and loved ones.
